Child Care Food Program (CACFP)

Celebrate National CACFP Week with QCC!

Earn more with the Child Care Food Program! The Child Care Food Program gives you an opportunity to provide higher quality snacks and meals for the children in your care. Your participation also demonstrates a commitment to good child nutrition for current and prospective parents — giving you a competitive edge.

As a participant, you will receive a monthly reimbursement check to help cover meal and snack expenses. The USDA sets the annual rate of reimbursement (per meal/snack served), and these checks can be deposited directly into your account each month. A licensed or exempt child care program could receive up to $121 each month for a child who was served breakfast, lunch and snack to one child ($1,452 yearly).* A family child care learning home provider could receive almost $95 per child each month ($1,135 yearly).* Group child care homes and nonprofit at-risk afterschool programs may also receive reimbursement. Quality Care for Children is an approved child care learning home and administrative sponsor by Bright from the Start: Georgia Department of Early Care and Learning. There are advantages to participating in our sponsorship:

  • Training/enrollment at your child care learning center or family child care learning home

  • Service in all 159 Georgia counties

  • Direct deposit

  • Help with menu planning

  • Online claiming using Minute Menu (optional for family child care learning homes only)

  • Friendly and professional staff available during business hours

  • Almost $4.50 per child each day (breakfast, lunch and snack)

*The reimbursement rates are subject to change and will vary based on family income or location. Estimates are based on 250 business operating days.

What others are saying

We’ve been able to allocate the money saved to other parts of our program, which helps to increase the overall quality. Having a sponsor helps to decrease the human errors that can happen when you are working alone to meet and document all of the daily requirements. Plus, QCC helps to simplify everything and provides much needed technical support when you need it. Our parents will see some of the items on our monthly menu or from the featured recipe, such as kale chips, and ask us how we got the children to eat it.
